In this place, I find myself differently grateful. Grateful for the view of the sea. Grateful for for the height of the flat. Grateful to have my head uncovered and a kind man who changes my light bulbs having been asked only to sort out the gas. Grateful for a door I can close and the open doors of strangers. Grateful for the palm groves and grateful for the sandy breeze. The problem is, of course, where to place that gratitude.
