There’s that rather exhausting problem of teaching. It rarely intersects well with the promise of writing. It seems obvious now that the best and full-time teacher-writers produce thin volumes. They write almost exclusively in sabbatical semesters and long academic breaks. None of my colleagues at the current job have managed to publish research, much less continue a creative publishing career. More than a year later, here I am. Today’s weather is rain leading to rising dust. This is not the high desert I knew as a child.
